The Washington Capitals brought the Stanley Cup home to glorious fanfare and celebration.
Ten’s, possibly hundreds of thousands of people lined the streets and packed the mall in anticipation of getting their first sight of the trophy that has slipped from their grasp for decades.
The parade started at 11 (closer to noon if we’re being honest) and went all the way down Constitution before settling at the foot of the National Mall.
Everyone was on display from the hard-hitting Tom Wilson to the Bud Knight (Dilly Dilly!)
Finally, at the end of the celebrations, the team joined their fans in what is now my favorite rendition of the Queen hit….
